Sign up to our courses in Location-Based Scheduling

Location-based scheduling gives construction professionals a clearer overview of their projects, making it easier to identify risks, optimise workflow, and deliver on time. By planning with locations rather than tasks alone, you can spot colliding work, idle areas, and resource imbalances before they become problems.
Our courses are held in Denmark (Aarhus and Copenhagen), Norway (Oslo) and Poland (Warszawa).
Choose between a course for new Tactplan users or advanced Tactplan users. You are also welcome to participate in both.
The courses combine instructor-led teaching with hands-on exercises, giving you the practical skills.

Introduction to locations-based scheduling

Level 1 - New Tactplan users
10 - 12 participants – 1 day

Location-based scheduling gives you an overview of risks that a bar chart (Gantt) cannot reveal. That way, you avoid unpleasant surprises in your construction process.
  • Are there areas on the construction site with colliding trades?
  • Is staffing evenly distributed and is there a steady flow of work?
  • Are there areas standing idle?
When you have a clear overview of where the challenges are, optimising your schedule becomes straightforward. You can easily save 10% of the execution time once you have identified the gaps in your schedule.

You will learn how to:
  • Apply location-based scheduling in construction projects
  • Set up new projects in Tactplan
  • Work with locations, activities, and durations
  • Work with different types of dependencies and flow in the schedule
  • Analyse resource consumption in your schedule
  • Set up views, colours, and printing of the schedule

Advanced course in locations-based scheduling

Level 2 - Advanced Tactplan users
10 - 12 participants – 1 day

This course teaches advanced functions in Tactplan for creating flow and even resource utilization in schedules. In addition, schedule risk analyses are covered, with a focus on:
  • Is there a risk of delays or bottlenecks?
  • Is staffing distributed optimally across locations?
  • How are project costs distributed throughout the project?
  • Does the actual work completed match the planned work?
When you have an overview of this, you can quickly adapt to any shortcomings and, in many cases, create a better and more robust schedule.

You will learn how to:
  • Apply location systems and advanced methods for creating and changing schedules
  • Analyse risks, flow, and the critical path
  • Optimise schedules
  • Add cost data to schedules and analyse cash flow
  • Track and manage progress in construction projects
You will get an introduction to:
  • Importing quantity data into Tactplan
  • Using quantity-driven and resource-driven schedules
